Stevie Nicks is an American singer, songwriter, and vocalist. She is best known for her outstanding vocals, mystical stage performances, and very poetic lyrics. Stevie is also a songwriter and vocalist with Fleetwood Mac.
Nicks went to school at Menlo-Atherton High School. She later joined San Jose State University and majored in speech communication. However, she dropped out of college before graduation. Nicks spent her adolescence playing records often. While attending Arcadia High School in Arcadia, California, she joined the Changing Times band, a folk rock.
Nicks met Lindsey Buckingham in her senior year at Menlo-Atherton High School. Additionally, Lindsey asked Nicks in 1967 to replace Jody Moreing, the lead singer for Fritz. Moreover, Fritz became popular as a live act when it opened for Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin from 1968 until 1971.
In 1972, Fritz split but Nicks and Buckingham continued to write as a duo and recorded demo tapes at night in Daly City. Moreover, they got a deal with Polydor Records which used tracks from their demo tapes to release the album, Buckingham Nicks, in 1973. Additionally, they joined Fleetwood Mac in January 1975. In 1974, Fleetwood called Buckingham to ask him to replace Welch. Stevie’s first solo album titled Bella Donna was released in 1981.
Moreover, she released her second solo album, The Wild Heart, in 1983. The album reached number five on the Billboard 200 albums. Additionally, she began working on a fourth solo album with English record producer Rupert Hine.
