Tim Elliott Biography
Tim Elliott is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Elliott is a former Titan FC Flyweight Champion and has been a professional competitor since 2009 where he is currently in his second tenure with the UFC.
Tim is a four-time winner of bonuses in the UFC, winning Fight of the night three times, Performance of the Night once, and won The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions. As of March 9, 2021, Tim is ranked #10 in the UFC flyweight rankings.
Elliott was born in Wichita, Kansas, and attended Campus High School. However, he transferred to Wichita South High School during his junior year. Tim was a state wrestling champion at Wichita South his senior year in 2005. In addition, he was one of the wrestling team at Labette Community College before transferring to the University of Central Oklahoma. Eventually, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and General Studies.

Before signing with the UFC, Time compiled a record of 8–2–1 in his first 11 fights; including a notable KO victory over former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver. He then signed with the UFC on April 17, 2012.
Tim made his debut in the UFC when he faced The Ultimate Fighter 14 winner John Dodson on May 5, 2012, at UFC on Fox 3, replacing an injured Darren Uyenoyama. However, Tim lost the fight through unanimous decisions.
In his second fight, Tim faced Jared Papazian on December 15, 2012, at The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson Finale. This time around, Elliott won the fight via unanimous decision (30–25, 30–25, 30–26). The fight also earned him the Fight of the Night bonus.
For his third fight, Tim faced Louis Gaudinot on August 31, 2013, at UFC 164 and won the fight via unanimous decision. On November 16, 2013, Tim fought Ali Bagautinov at UFC 167. This marked his first appearance on the main card of a pay-per-view event in the fight. He lost the fight via unanimous decision.
Tim’s next fight was against Joseph Benavidez on April 26, 2014, at UFC 172 where he lost via submission in the first round. He was then expected to face Wilson Reis on August 23, 2014, at UFC Fight Night 49. However, he pulled out of the bout a few days before the event.

On July 21, 2016, Tim was announced as a cast member on the 24th season of The Ultimate Fighter. The winner of the show would secure a chance to fight Demetrious Johnson for the UFC Flyweight Championship.
After winning The Ultimate Fighter 24, Elliott won the opportunity to fight flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson. He fought Johnson on December 3, 2016, at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale for the flyweight Championship where he lost the fight by unanimous decision.
Elliott’s recent fights with the UFC signing include a fight with Ryan Benoit on July 16, 2020, at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige. Tim won the fight by unanimous decision, securing his first win since 2017. On August 3, 2020, it was reported the Tim had tested positive for Marijuana after the fight and is facing a suspension. The suspension was for a period of four and half months and was fined 15% if his purse by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on September 3, 2020, after positive for marijuana.
On January 16, 2021, Tim was scheduled to fight Jordan Espinosa at UFC on ABC 1. However, Jordan tested positive for COVID-19 in late December and the pairing was moved to UFC 259. He won the fight through unanimous decisions.
On June 26, 2021, Elliott was scheduled to fight Su Mudaerji at UFC Fight Night 190. However, Mudaerji had to pull off the bout due to a knee injury that required surgery. Currently, Tim is scheduled to face Matheus Nicolau on October 16, 2021, at UFC Fight Night 196.
