Todd Howell Biography
Todd Howell is a renowned American meteorologist currently working as a chief meteorologist for WBIR-TV, an NBC affiliate station based in Knoxville, TN. Prior to joining WBIR-TV, Todd worked as a weekend weather anchor at WTVA-TV in Tupelo, MS.
Born and raised in Gaffney, South Carolina, Todd grew up with a passion for the weather which ultimately lead him to be a meteorologist.
After completing high school, the weather anchor went straight ahead to attend the University of Georgia in Athens. He later graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.
After working for three years in computer sales, Howell decided to pursue his dream career in weather. He then graduated from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS with a Master’s degree in geoscience in 1993.
Immediately after his graduation, Todd joined WBIR-TV as a staff meteorologist. In 1996 he was named Chief Meteorologist. He is a member of the National Weather Association.
