Jamie Foxx (Eric Marlon Bishop) is an American actor, singer, songwriter, record producer, and comedian. For his role as Ray Charles in the 2004 biographical film Ray, he won several awards. These awards include; Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics’ Choice Movie Award, and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
In 2004, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the crime film Collateral. He has worked as the host and executive producer of the Fox game show Beat Shazam since 2017.
Jimmie has featured in other acting roles infamous series including; Jarhead (2005), Dreamgirls (2006), TV series Miami Vice, Django Unchained (2012), Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), Annie (2014), Baby Driver (2017).
He also featured in the sketch comedy show, Living Color, and his own television sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001) in which he role-played Jamie King, Jr.

1989–2003: Beginnings and acting debut
His first comedy was at a comedy club’s open mic night in 1989, after accepting a girlfriend’s dare. When he found that female comedians were often called first to perform, he changed his name to Jamie Foxx, feeling that its ambiguity would not allow any biases.
However, his choice for the surname was a tribute to the black comedian Redd Foxx. He then joined the cast of In Living Color in 1991, where his recurrent role Wanda also shared a name with Redd’s friend and co-worker, LaWanda Page.
