Liane Morejon Biography
Liane Morejon is an American Emmy award-winning journalist currently working at WPLG Local 10 News, Miami, Florida, as a news reporter. She joined the station back in January 2010. Morejon, while still in college, she interned at the Local 10 News.
Currently, Liane can be seen reporting weekdays at noon, 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m, and also on Sundays at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. Morejon has covered some of the greatest stories in South Florida over a wide range of topics either its traveling across the country to cover stories making national headlines, catching up with a group of migrants, covering crime and public corruption.
Morejon interned at Local 10 and later was promoted to producer. She also began as an associate producer for Local 10 News Mornings and was later promoted to head producer of the 5 a.m. hour. Additionally, in 2013, she transitioned into working on the air, beginning as a traffic anchor before being a full-time reporting anchor.
While Liane was still at college, she worked at Coral Gables Television serving as a reporter, host, editor, and producer. She earned multiple Davey and Telly awards for her work in public affairs programming. Liane won a Society of Professional Journalists award for general assignment reporting while still studying. She has also anchored UM’S Emmy Award-winning weekly newscast Newsvision.

Additionally, she recently received a Suncoast Emmy Award for her role in team coverage of the Parkland massacre. She has also been nominated for an Emmy for her role in the continuing coverage of the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Furthermore, Morejon is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists.
In her leisure time, Liane likes to spend time with her fiance and her daughter, and cheer for the Miami Hurricanes. She attended and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s degree in communication and a double major in broadcast journalism and theatre arts. Additionally, Morejon pursued graduate studies at Barry University.
