Ben Kennedy is an American Emmy Award Washington Bureau Chief reporter and anchor for WPLG, Local 10 News. Kennedy has more than ten years of reporting experience covering breaking news nationwide. He joined the station’s team in March 2021.
From January 2017 to March 2021, Ben was a White House Correspondent for CBN News in Washington, District of Columbia. Moreover, he has also reported for WPLG for seven years, from December 2009 to January 2017. Kennedy reported living in Kingston, Jamaica, as Hurricane Matthew hit the island. Moreover, he was the first journalist to interview Diana Nyadmoments after her historic swim from Cuba to Key West. Ben has also reported live during the Deep Water Horizon oil spillage and the investigation into the shooting deaths of Trayvon Martin and Corey Jones.
Prior to that, Kennedy has also been a reporter for WVNY ABC 22 & WFFF FOX 44 from June 2007 to November 2009. Additionally, he reported and anchored for KOMU-TV 8 from August 2005 to June 2007. He was an intern for CBS 2 Chicago with the investigative department.
