Meg Tirrell is an American journalist who has been working as a senior health and science reporter at CNBC since April 2014. Prior to joining the station, she worked as a biotechnology reporter for Bloomberg News and also contributed to Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg Businessweek.
She attended and graduated from Wellesley College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Music. Later on, in 2007, she earned her Master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
Having worked for Bloomberg News in New York before joining her current station, she also worked as a small-caps and consumer reporter from September 2007-August 2009. Between August 2009-September 2010, she worked as a health, science, and pharma reporter. She also worked as a biotechnology reporter between 2010 to 2014.
Currently, she works as a biotech and pharma reporter for CNBC in Englewood Cliffs. In addition, she hosts CNBC’s Business Day programming and contributes to CNBX.com. In her stay here at CNBC, she has covered the development of new drugs for Alzheimer’s, cancer, and rare diseases.
