Previously, he worked as a fill-in anchor and lead reporter for KUSA News in Las Vegas, Denver, and KDVR News in Colorado.
Keating attended a local high school in his hometown and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications from the University of Missouri in Columbia. After graduating he kicked off his career as a broadcast journalist in 1990 by working as an intern reporter and photographer in WMAZ news in Georgia.
