Jackie Redmond is a Canadian journalist who is currently working as a sports anchor, producer, and reporter for Sports Central, National Hockey League, and Major League Baseball Networks. When she was young, she used to play hockey and other sports and her father motivated her to become a sports anchor.
Redmond did most of her studying in Canada. In 2006, she joined the Univesity of Guelph-Humber in Toronto where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and a Journalism Diploma in 2010.
After graduating, she took a job as an intern for Entertainment Tonight Canada, where she worked for fourth months. Later, she won the Gilette Drafted: The Search for Canada’s Next Sportscaster, season three in 2011. When she emerged as a winner of the show, she became a great target for TV stations that were looking for a sportscaster, which made it easier for her to get a job.
Within no time, she was working with Sportsnet, a famous sports specialty in Canada. While here, she was responsible for co-hosting the Live@the score. She covered the Hokey Central Playoff for the NHL’s network. Furthermore, she secured a one-year contract working as the Gillette sportsperson, making her the first female for that role.
After years of ups and downs in her career, Jackie finally landed a job in the US. Currently, she is working at NHL Networks as a host, and at the MLB Network.
