Joy Reid Biography
Joy Reid is an American journalist working as a political commentator, television host, and national correspondent for MSNBC. She was appointed the national correspondent in 2015 after joining the station in 2011 as a contributor. Every weeknight, she hosts the new show, The Reid Out. When this show replaces Chris Matthew’s long-running show, Hardball, she will be the only black woman hosting an evening primetime show in the United States.
Joy has also served in the Barack Obama campaign. In 2006, she hosted, ‘Wake Up South Florida’. She has hosted MSNBC’s political weekend morning talk show called “AM JOY”. This show has over 1 million weekly views.
After high school, Joy enrolled at Harvard University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in film. She had to pay for her own school fees as she struggled to cope with the unfamiliar environment.
