Marko Jaric Biography
Marko Jarić Greek: Μάρκο is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He also worked as represented of the FR Yugoslavian national basketball team as well as a member of the All-EuroLeague First Team. Prior, Jaric also won gold medals in two consequent years in 2001 and 2002.
Jarić was born and raised in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He began playing basketball with the youth teams of the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. After that, he joined the Greek Basket League club Peristeri, where he played for one year. He also played two seasons in the European-wide 3rd-tier level FIBA Korać Cup. Likewise, Marko also played with other clubs like Fortitudo Bologna and Virtus Bologna.
In 2000, he won the Italian League championship with Fortitudo Bologna and Virtus Bologna. Additionally, Marko also becomes the first player ever to win back-to-back Italian League championships, on two teams. Prior to this, he played with the Los Angeles Clippers, for three NBA seasons before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Three years later, Jaric was traded to the Grizzlies, in an eight-player deal, which involved rookie guard O. J. Mayo, and Kevin Love.
After that, He played in the NBA’s final game in Victory, where he played for 23 minutes and recorded 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Thereafter, Marko was signed with Spanish Liga ACB club Real Madrid in 2009. After working for one year in the club, Jarić moved to the Italian LBA club Montepaschi Siena. There he worked for one years before again signing with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. Furthermore, he won the gold medal at the 1998 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.
