Joe Biden, also known as Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., is an American politician who is presently serving as the 46th President of the United States of America. From 2007 until 2017, he was the 47th Vice President of the United States. Biden previously served in the United States Senate, representing Delaware from 1973 to 2009.
Joe, a member of the Democratic Party, declared his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. He also chose Kamala Harris as his running mate. Biden was running against Donald Trump, the president.
Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he then moved to Delaware’s New Castle County. After graduating from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in law, he enrolled in the University of Delaware.
In 1969, Biden began his career as a lawyer, and a year later, he was elected to the New Castle County Council. In 1972, he was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Delaware. As a result, he became the sixth-youngest senator in American history.
He remained the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee after that. Biden opposed the Gulf War while supporting US and NATO engagement in the Bosnian War while in office. He was the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee from 1987 until 1995 where he dealt with issues related to drug policy, crime prevention, and civil liberties.

His early presidential activities included developing, lobbying for, and signing into law the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, as well as a number of executive orders, to help the United States recover from the COVID-19 epidemic and the current recession.
