Ahmed Fareed is an American journalist who is currently working as a studio host and sports reporter at NBC and NBC. Additionally, he joined NBC Sports Bay Area in January 2013.
He is a native of Sparta, Michigan where he played quarterback for the Spartans. He attended and graduated from Syracuse University S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
He kicked off his career as a weekend Sports Anchor for WILK-TV and WSYM-TV in Lansing, Michigan. Later on, he moved to WAVY-TV in Portsmouth, VA. There he spent five years covering local sports. He covered the Washington Redskins, the Norfolk Tides, Virginia Tech Hokies, and the Virginia Cavaliers.

Prior to his work at NBC Sports Bay Area in San Fransisco, he was employed by MLB Network. Here he appeared regularly on studio programming. This included MLB Tonight and Quick Pitch. He has also served as a studio host on USA Network and NBCSN for the 2016 Summer and 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
In February 2019, NBC Sports Net announced that he was leaving his position in the Bay Area. This was to join their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. In July 2021, he served as a studio host on NBCSN and Olympic Channel for the 2021 Summer Olympic Games.
