Alex Kompothecras is an American reality TV personality best known for his appearance on the reality series, Siesta Key. He made headlines in June 2020 after he allegedly made racist comments sharing white supremacist images on social media. Following the controversy, he was fired from the series.

Kompothecras is a star of Siesta Key, MTV’s reality TV show, which debuted its pilot episode on July 31, 2017. As the party, fish, and go boating in Siesta Key, Florida, the show follows Alex and his friends. Alex is remembered on Siesta Key as the king of his clique and for throwing wild parties at the mansion of his family.
Kompothecras’s father Gary is one of the executive producers on Siesta Key. The show has been compared to a mix of former MTV reality shows The Hills and Laguna Beach. Siesta Key’s premier party was canceled after he received death threats for his friendship with Michael Wenzel who has been under investigation for animal cruelty.

MTV has fired Alex from the Siesta Key reality show. Alex was cut off on Tuesday 16, June 2020 over racism claims that just resurfaced on the internet and were shared among fans. An MTV spokesperson issued this statement to Deadline: “We’ve made the decision to cut ties with Alex and are editing the current season to minimize his presence. He will not be in future seasons of Siesta Key.”
This is the third reality star MTV has cut ties with lately. Last week, the network cut ties with The Challenge’s Dee Nguyen and Teen Mom’s Taylor Selfridge. Racism has been a challenge lately and all over the world have been awakening to fight the devastating monster.
