Alex Perez Biography
Alex Perez is an American anchor and reporter currently working as a national correspondent at ABC News based in the Greater Chicago Area. He joined the stations’ team in March 2012.
Perez is the host of the Good Morning America, TonightNightlin, and 20/20 shows on ABC. While filing his reports, he traveled across the country and around the world. Alex is a hurricane reporter covering the east coast and the Caribbean. In addition, he was observed in Ferguson, Missouri, just after Michael Brown was shot by police.
Alex has also covered the heated 2016 US presidential election and traveled to Rome for Pope Francis’ first Easter celebration. He was fortunate enough to win the coveted Marshall Memorial Fellowship, which allowed him to travel around Europe and meet with political leaders.

Alex formerly worked for NBC in Chicago as a correspondent from 2005 thru 2012. He covered former US President Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign while at NBC. In addition, from 2003 to 2005, she worked as a reporter for KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas. In addition, from 2002 to 2003, Lex worked as a reporter for WKBK-TV 11.
Perez began his studies at the University of Illinois in 1998 and finished in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. He is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and is a Chicago native.
