Alex Whittler Biography
Alex Whittler is an American journalist who is currently working as a reporter and anchor at FOX5 Atlanta. She anchors the 10 and 11 pm newscasts. She joined the station in January 2020.
Whittler started schooling in 2008 at La Cueva High School-Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated in 2012. Later on, she joined Loyola University Chicago in 2012, Loyola where she minored in political science and dance. In 2016, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She then joined Medill Journalism School in the same year and graduated in 2017 with a master’s degree.
Most notably, she began her journalism career in Chicago. In Chicago, she was working in all but one of the city’s TV newsrooms including WMA, WNG, WBBM, and WLS. She had interning stints for the Cosmopolitan magazine and the TODAY show. Additionally, she went on to write freelance articles for TODAY.com, Cosmopolitan, and NBCNews.com.
Most recently, she anchored and reported in Richmond, Virginia. She covered breaking news events. This was from the Virginia Beach mass shooting to near-record-breaking snowfall. She also covered the deadly tornados caused by Hurricane Florence. When off her duties, she looks for ways to get involved in the community. She speaks to students and hosts charity events.
