Alex Wilson Biography
Alex Wilson is an American meteorologist who is currently working as an on-camera Meteorologist and co-host, of “Weather Underground” on The Weather Channel. She joined the station in March 2013. Prior to joining her current station, she worked at FOX Carolina in Greenville.
Wilson attended Syracuse University where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in both broadcast journalism and marketing in May 2006. Later on, she attended Penna State University and graduated with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. This was in December 2007. She is also a recipient of the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society.
Previously, she worked as the morning meteorologist at FOX Carolina in Greenville, SC. Prior to that, she spent two years working at WOWK-TV and WVNS-TV in Huntington. At Penna State, she received the AMS John R Hope Endowed Scholarship in Atmospheric Science. Additionally, she received the J Nand Peggy Myers Scholarship in Meteorology. This was from the PSU Department of Meteorology. Her third scholarship was the John and Elizabeth Holmes Teas Scholarship. This was from the PSU College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. She currently serves as an on-camera Meteorologist and co-host.
