Ali Wong Biography
Ali Wong is an American Actress and stand-up comedian who is best known for her Netflix stand-up specials Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife, and Don Wong. After serving as writer and producer of the Film Always Be My Maybe, Wong went on to star in the film.
She was a cast member on the ABC American Housewife and has previously appeared on Inside Amy Schumer, Black Box, and Are You There, Chelsea? Wong was also a writer for the first three seasons of the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. In addition, she voiced Robert on Tuca & Bertie and Ali on Big Mouth.
Born in Pacific Height, she attended and graduated from San Francisco University High School, where he was a student body class president. Later on, she enrolled at UCLA, where she majored in Asian American studies and discovered her love of performing as a member of the university’s LCC Theatre Company.

Ali also spent a summer working at The Lair of the Global Bear, a UC Berkeley alumni summer family camp, and during her junior year, she spent time in Hanoi. Most notably, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian-American studies in 2005. She then studies in Vietnam through a Fullbright program.
After graduating from college, she first tried stand-up comedy. After a while, she moved to New York City to pursue comedy and began to perform up to nine times a night. In 2011, she was named one of the “10 Comics to Watch” by Variety. She was also cast as a series regular in the NBC comedy series Are You There Chelsea? After that, Wong was in VH1’s Best Ever and MTV’s Hey Girl in 2013.
Wong starred with Randall Park in the 2019 Netflix film Always Be My Maybe and also voiced Bertie in Tuca & Bertie. In October of the same year, she came out with a book entitled Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, and Advice for Living Your Best Life. Recently in February 2022, she released her third stand-up special, Don Wong.
