Alyssa Taglia Biography
Alyssa Taglia is an American journalist currently working as a traffic and news reporter at WTNH-TV News 8’s Good Morning Connecticut. She is a member of the Miss America State Titleholders Association (MASTA) and also serves on the board of Directors at SELF INC.
Taglia is a proud graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and former Miss Connecticut in 2016. She represented her home state in the 2017 Miss America Pageant which ran live on ABC. The following year, Alyssa joined the New York Film Academy’s Broadcast Journalism certificate program on a full scholarship.
In early 2020 when the world was hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, Alyssa established “Wednesday’s Warrior”, a weekly segment highlighting the good work of everyday warriors from Connecticut communities.
She has a passion for community service, making it a priority to give back and volunteer her time to many charitable organizations. At the age of 12, Alyssa founded “Smiles for Seniors”, a volunteer-driven program created to enrich the lives of our elderly, specifically those in long-term care facilities. She also serves on the Board of Directors for SELF INC. In addition, she is a member of “MASTA”: The Miss America State Titleholders Association. In 2016, Taglia was a goodwill ambassador for Connecticut Children’s.
