Amanda McKenzie is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning American journalist who has been a morning anchor for Fox 35‘s Good Day Orlando since 2018.
She was born and raised in Florida but has worked as a broadcast journalist in three other states. She most recently worked for News 13 in Orlando, where she investigated neighborhood issues and covered court cases.
Prior to returning to Central Florida, she worked for Time Warner Cable News in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she was named one of the top reporters in the state by The Associated Press. She covered the John Edwards campaign finance trial from the federal courthouse in Greensboro in detail and in real-time.
Amanda worked as a reporter for WAKA-CBS in Montgomery, Alabama, before coming to North Carolina, where she covered national stories like Alabama’s controversial immigration law and the terrible tornadoes that ripped through the state, causing serious damage and hundreds of deaths.
Amanda earned her master’s degree from the New York Film Academy in Manhattan, where she studied broadcast journalism in an NBC News-affiliated program. She further Magna Cum Laude graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Amanda completed internships at NBC’s ‘Today’ show in New York City and WCJB TV20 News in Gainesville while in college.
