Amaya Josephine Hermann is an American celebrity kid known as the daughter of Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann. She was adopted by a celebrity couple from Africa on April 7, 2011. She eventually came into the limelight because of her cute looks while being photographed along with her parents.
Unfortunately, her biological parents are not known to the public. Their identity, profession, and family background are not yet been discovered. However, we understand that her parents are of African American descent.

On the other hand, her adoptive father Peter Hermann is a renowned actor, writer, and producer. Mariska launched his career in 1997 and appeared in several television projects, film projects, and commercials. Peter met his wife while filming Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and eventually toed their knots at the historic Unitarian Chapel in Santa Barbara, California on August 28, 2004.

Josephine has two siblings, her elder brother, August Miklos Friedrich Hermann being the only biological child of Peter and Mariska. August was born on June 28, 2006, via an emergency C-section. According to the actress, it was Miklos who asked for a little sister and later a little brother. The trio loves each other so much that they can not hide it.
Amaya is the second and middle child of the family while Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann is the youngest child of the Hermann clan. Nicolas was adopted when he was just six months old after he was born on October 19, 2011.
According to various sources, Andrew’s biological father was a friend of Peter and Mariska, and young Andrew was only two months when his father died in September 2011. At this time, the actress and her husband Peter mourned a mutual friend that they were informed by the lawyer that the deceased had left behind a two-month-old boy, born prematurely.
Peter and Mariska then expressed interest in adopting Andrew and two days later the couple met with Andrew’s birth mother who gave her permission to adopt him.
