Andy Reid Biography

Andy Reid is a renowned American football coach who is currently the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Previously, he served as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999–to 2012.

From 2001–to 2012, Reid was the Eagles’ executive vice president of football operations, subsequently becoming the team’s general manager. He began his coaching career as an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers between 1992 and 1998, with whom he won a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXI.

Moreover, Reid’s term in Green Bay led him to secure his first head-coaching position with the Eagles, who became perennial postseason contenders under his leadership. He led the Eagles to six division titles, nine playoff runs, one Super Bowl appearance, and five NFC Championship Games (including four consecutive appearances from 2001–to 2004). However, in spite of his success, Andy was unable to lead the Eagles to victory in the Super Bowl. Therefore, he left the team in 2012, following a decline in fortunes.

Furthermore, after his departure from Philadelphia, Andy was hired as the head coach of the Chiefs in 2013 and helped revitalize the struggling franchise, as well as end its eight-game playoff losing streak that had stood since 1993.

Moreover, in his eight seasons with Kansas City, he has led the Chiefs to seven postseason appearances, three AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowl appearances, five division titles, and a single Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LIV, the franchise’s first in 50 years and Reid’s first as a head coach.
