Ari David Shaffir is an American comedian, podcast, actor, writer, and producer. Currently, he hosts and produces the Skeptic Tank podcast as well as co-hosts Punch Drunk Sports with Jayson Thibault and Sam Tripoli. Additionally, Ari is also a frequent guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast along with Mark Normand and Shane Gillis. He was born and raised in New York, United States.

Shaffir completed his high school education in Rockville, Maryland, and afterward attended Yeshiva University in New York City where he study for two years. After that, he transferred to Maryland University where he graduated with a degree in English literature. During his time at the University, he played on the University’s NCAA golf team where he served as the lowest-ranked NCAA athlete. Shortly after college, he performed his stage debut at an open mic night at a “sports comedy place in Northern Virginia”.

After that, he moved to Los Angeles to improve his chances of success as a stand-up comedian. Later on, he appeared in comedy shows on television and comedians on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. In 2012, he became bicoastal, living in both Los Angeles and New York City before he became a full-time New York resident. His popularity increased wider after his video series called The Amazing Racist went viral. Moreover, He also toured with fellow comedians such as Joey Diaz, Duncan Trussell, Tom Segura, Brian Redban, and Joe Rogan.

Afterward, Shaffir appeared at the Montreal Comedy Festival as part of The Nasty Show. In addition, he also hosted, created, and produced a live show This Is Not Happening, along with Eric Abrams. Ari also played on the 3rd episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, his first of 44 appearances on the show. Two years later, Shaffir released another special, Double Negative on Netflix before later beginning touring with the show Ari Shaffir: Jew, currently available on YouTube. Aside from his broadcasting, Shaffir has also appeared in several films such as The Fax, Reeling in Reality, Pauly Shore’s Natural Born Komics, and Keeping Up with the Joneses.
