Arthur Chi’en Biography

Arthur Chi’en is an Asian three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist currently working as an anchor and reporter at Fox 5 News in New York. He is also an adjunct professor at New York University since May 2019.

Arthur attended Hunter College High School and Columbia University. He then started his journalism career at NBC News. At NBC, he worked his way up as a producer for NBC’s Nightly News with Tom Brokaw as well as a New York Bureau producer for the Today Show.

From NBC, Arthur worked as a reporter for New York 1 News in the Greater New York City Area. After spending two years at the station, he moved to WCBS-TV to work as a news correspondent.

Arthur’s next moved saw him join WPIX-TV as a general assignment correspondent for all news shows. After serving WPIX-Tv for nine years, Chi’en decided to leave to co-partner in the establishment of SantAnna Mykonos in Greece.

Since May 2019, Arthur is the Adjunct Professor at New York University. He instructs courses focused on equipping students with the foundations of media and reporting. Starting May 2014, Arthur joined Fox 5 News as an anchor and reporter.

As a member of the Special Unit, Arthur covered several high-profile events from hurricanes to plane crashes to major trials including the crash of TWA 800 and the Megan Kanka trial. His other notable assignments included the Oklahoma City bombing, the arrest and subsequent trial of O.J. Simpson, and election coverage for Decision 1994 and 1996.
