Aubrey Urbanowicz Biography
Aubrey Urbanowicz is an American meteorologist who currently serves as a chief meteorologist at WHSV. She joined the station in 2010. Apart from her sole as a chief meteorologist, she goes around to the schools and community talking about the weather. In addition, she teaches an LLI class at JMU.
She became interested in weather while working as a corporate trainer for a restaurant chain. Following this, she returned to school to study meteorology and graduated in 2009. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology.
Aubrey has been in 6 hurricanes starting with hurricane Gloria at the age of 4. She was also in four hurricanes as a corporate trainer for Chilies. This is basically how she ended up being a meteorologist.
Her interests in weather history have grown since moving to Shenandoah Valley. Urbanowiz is always interested in hearing about previous weather events. When off her duties, she loves traveling and exploring the surrounding area. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and hiking.
