He also gained national recognition and public attention for playing high school basketball for Whitnall High School based in his hometown, Greenfield Wisconsin. This is the same high school his older brother Tyler began his career as a basketball player before joining the National Basketball Association.

He grew up watching his older brother, Tyler play various sports such as soccer and football throughout middle school and high school. before finally focusing on his basketball skills.
