Awkwafina is a famous American actress, comedian and rapper who was born as Nora Lum in Stony Brook, New York. She rose to fame for her viral rap song called My Vag which was posted on Youtube. Nora also gained more fame after releasing her debut album called Yellow Banger back in 2014. She then went on to play supportive roles in various comedy films like Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) and Ocean’s 8 (2018).
Awkwafina was born in Stony Brook New York but she was brought up in Forest Hills, Queens by a Chinese-American father and a Korean-native mother. In 2012, she dropped her first rap song called My Vag which went viral on Youtube 2012. The song was written while she was in college as a response to Mickey Avalon’s My Dick. In 2016, Awkwafina gained more fame or collaborating with the famous Comedian Margaret Cho on Green Tea.
By 2017, Nora had built her own artist, image, and personal character as a comedian and musician. Therefore, she got opportunities to do cameos on commercials and TV shows. Nora even gained the opportunity to work as a cohost on a short talk show web series called Tawk. She made her acting debut in 2016 by playing Christine’s role in Neighbors 2:Sorrority Rising.
