Bill Hemmer Biography
Bill Hemmer is an American Journalist currently sitting as Fox New’s 3 p.m. hour-long news anchor. Hemmer took over this position in January 2020 to replace Shepard Smith who resigned from the station after 24 years of service (since 1996). Furthermore, he is the Chief Anchor for breaking news at Fox.
Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to his father, William Bill, a retired manufacturing-company executive. He then joined Our Lady of Victory (Cincinnati), a catholic parochial school later moving to Elder High School in Cincinnati in the year 1983.
During his later years in Elder high school, Bill and a friend started a radio program that played 15 minutes of music before their classes began. He referred to this as the start of an interest in broadcasting.
Hammer graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting journalism. While at Miami University, he joined Delta Tau Delta society and studied in Europe at the Miami University Dolibois European Center. This is an institution currently located in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

Hemmer started his career in sports production at WLWT-TV in the mid-1980s where he discovered his passion for live broadcasting. In his last year at Miami University, Bill was offered a position at WLWT-TV as a sports producer. However, it did not take much before he went to CBS affiliate WCPO-TV as a sports anchor.
Between 1995 and 2005, Bill worked at CNN where he hosted a variety of programs, including American Morning, CNN Tonight, CNN Early Edition, CNN Morning News, and CNN Live Today.
In August 2005, Hemmer joined Fox News where she has been working as a morning co-anchor of America’s Newsroom. However, in January 2020, she assumed a new role as the host of the TV show, Bill Hemmer Reports, and the Chief Anchor for breaking news and other live major events.
