Blake Jenner Biography
Blake Alexander Jenner is an American actor, model, and singer who is known for his role in popular series like Glee, The Edge of Seventeen, American Animals, and What/If. He is also the winner of the second season of Oxygen’s The Glee Project. Alexander is a native of Miami, Florida, and throughout his career, he has been awarded some awards like Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Star.
Jenner attended school at Felix Varela High School, where he was a member of the drama school society. While there he also participated in sports games like football and wrestling. He also became a member of a sketch comedy improv group based in Miami. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career in acting. There Blake worked in various jobs like waiter and clothing store associate while auditioning for acting roles.
He continually attended improv classes at The Groundlings and eventually did a guest show with that company two years later. In 2011, he appeared in his first short film called Wurlitzer and The Truth In Being Right. After that, Jenner starred in the horror film Cousin Sarah and made an appearance on ABC Family’s sitcom Melissa & Joey as Miller Collins.

A year later, he got selected to audition as one of 15 contestants on the second season of The Glee Project. In the competition, he was one of the three contestants who won the prize and later appeared in four seasons of Glee as Ryder Lynn. For his role in the film, he won the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Star. After that, he and his fellow co-star were later promoted stars for the next season.
Apart from his acting career, Alexander wrote the screenplay for Billy Boy which was funded by his fan. That same year, he starred in the drama The Edge of Seventeen. A few years later, he was cast in the drama film The Vanishing of Sidney Hall starred as Shawn Christensen. In 2018, Jenner played Christian de Neuvillette in the Goodspeed Musical production’sCyrano at the Norma Terris Theatre. Moreover, he also portrayed Sean in What/If in the Netflix thriller series. As of 2023, he starred in Merrily We Roll Along.
