Blayne Alexander is an American journalist who works as a reporter and anchor for Atlanta’s NBC affiliate, 11Alive News. Alexander anchors 11Alive Weekend Today on Saturday and Sunday mornings, beginning at 9 a.m., in addition to her weekday reporting.
Blayne, a three-time Emmy Award nominee, has covered some of the most important news events in recent history around the country. Her first major assignment was covering President Barack Obama’s historic inauguration with a team of journalists in 2009, a job she would repeat four years later. Following the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray, Blayne spent days covering protests in Ferguson and Baltimore.
Moreover, she covered the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama, as the nation’s attention was drawn to the small community. Blayne’s work has been shown on MSNBC and The Weather Channel across the country.
Blayne worked as a general assignment and education reporter at WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia, until moving to Atlanta in 2011. She began started her career as a production assistant for NBC Nightly News in Washington, DC.

Alexander is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and an active volunteer and mentor with Cool Girls, Inc. as a community servant. In addition, she volunteers with the Fulton County Juvenile Court Citizen Review Panel and is a member of the advisory board for The Scholarship Academy, a non-profit that helps low-income youngsters obtain college scholarships.
