Brad Johansen Biography
Brad Johansen is an American journalist currently working as the evening news anchor and reporter for NBC4, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio. Before Johansen joined NBC4, he served as the evening anchor and reporter for WRAL-TV, an NBC-affiliated television station located in Raleigh, North Carolina, the United States of America.
Brad attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, and joined the staff at WEEK-TV in his junior year. After his graduation, he spent time in Lansing, MI, San Luis Obispo, CA, and Las Vegas, NV before moving to Cincinnati in 1992.
From 1996 to 2014, Johansen was the sports director at WKRC-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was announcing Bengals pre-season games. Furthermore, in 2000, he moved to the radio booth, replacing Arbogast, who is the voice of the USC Trojans football and women’s basketball programs. He held this position prior to calling the Bengals broadcasts.
On May 4, 2011, the Bengals announced that they had hired Dan Hoard as the new Bengals radio play-by-play announcer replacing Brad Johansen. Moreover, on July 6, it was announced that Johansen was hired to replace Paul Keels. As the TV play-by-play announcer for Bengals preseason games.
In 2014, Brad moved on from being the sports director and a play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports Network to anchoring the 4:00 and 5:30 pm newscasts at WKRC. However, he left WKRC-TV in April 2018 to join WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina as an evening news anchor and reporter.
Additionally, on March 6, 2020, Brad returned to television, working as an evening news anchor and reporter for NBC4, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
