Brian Todd is an American veteran journalist currently serving as a CNN correspondent based in Washington. D.C. He provides reports for The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Notably, he has contributed to the network’s comprehensive “America Votes 2008” coverage.

Brian has also reported on various breaking news stories including the Lewis “Scooter” Libby trial, Hurricane Katrina, the Dubai ports controversy, and the Sago Mine disaster. Moreover, he has delivered in-depth reports on terrorism, politics, and national security and several series.

The CNN veteran holds a Bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Miami. He has served the station for over two decades having joined the station in 1987 as a copywriter for morning programming. Soon after, he took on the production responsibilities in the field and for long-form reports.

From 1989 to 1993, Brian served as an anchor and reporter for CNN Newsroom, a news program for high school and middle school students. He then became a news producer based in Washington, D.C., in 1993 and then an editorial producer for Larry King Live in 1997.

In 2000, Todd became the senior producer for Wolf Blitzer Reports, a precursor to The Situation Room. As a producer, Brian began offering on-air reports in January 2004 and became an on-air correspondent full-time in 2006.

Prior to joining CNN, Todd served as a reporter for Guam Cable TV in the Pacific Marianas Islands; a sports producer for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, and a sports producer for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C
