Brooks Garner Biography
Brooks Garner is an American meteorologist who is currently working as a meteorologist at WOFL FOX 35 in Orlando, Florida since June 2021. In addition, he airs the evening weathercast. Prior to joining his current station, he worked as Denver TV Morning Meteorologist at KDVR FOX 31 Denver in Denver, Colorado for a period of two years. 2021 has been a good year for Brooks as in July of 2021, he won the “Best morning newscast” Award.
He attended and graduated from The Bromfield School with a high school diploma in 1998. Later on, he joined the Massachusetts College of Arts and Design and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2003. He worked as a Web Developer in Greater Boston Area as a self-employed and Boston TV Weather Producer n 7 News WHDH-TV in Boston.
In addition, he attended a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorologist Program at Mississippi State University in 2007. During his certificate course, he worked at KMEG 14 Siouxland News in Iowa TV morning Meteorologist for 8 months which is also where his career began. He later joined WACH FOX as South Carolina TV Meteorologist in Columbia, where he served as a Freelance nightside fill-in.
Following his career journey, he moved to WIS-TV as South Carolina TV Evening Meteorologist at Columbia. He also worked at WFLA-TV News Channel 8 and WTTA-TV Great 38 as Tampa TV Evening Meteorologist and Weekday Science Reporter.
Throughout his career, he has received a number of awards this includes, including an Emmy Award for Best Meteorologist in Houston in 2016, an Edward R. Murrow in RTDNA in June 2018, an AP Award for Florida Associated Press Broadcasters in 2013, and an Emmy Award for National Academy of Arts and Sciences in July 2021.
In her free time, she loves hiking, mountain biking, and running along with his wife and two daughters. In addition to his career story, he has appeared in “My Own Love Song” a 2010 Hollywood movie as a weatherman. He also forecasted “Accidental Love” in 2015, and “Death Sentence” in 2017 as a forecaster.
