Carla Wade Biography
Carla Wade is a Veteran two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist who currently works at WVTM NBC 13. Wade comes to WVTM from KTNV ABC 13 News In Las Vegas where she served as the station’s weekend morning anchor.
Carl joined KTNV from the ABC affiliate in Dallas, Texas. As a reporter, Carl covered everything from the Ebola scare to the shooting of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, to record-breaking floods and everything in between.
Wade is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where she started her journalism career at the student newspaper and in local radio. In addition, she was a founding member of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, supported STEAM Education with the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, and hosted the national convention of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in Las Vegas.
Before relocating to Dallas, Carla worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KOCO in Oklahoma City. She spent time chasing Tornado Alley and covering the championship runs of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wade has also anchored and reported at the stations in Lexington, Kentucky: Little Rock, Arkansas; and Lawton, Oklahoma.

Carla started her career in radio news, working as a morning show co-host and evening drive news anchor for stations in Oklahoma City and Norman. This was during her days at the University of Oklahoma. Wade’s work earned her an Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcaster’s Award.
Wade has made it a priority to give back to the society in every city she has lived. Notably, she has volunteered with Junior Achievement, the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, and remains involved with the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The memorial is always close to her heart since she lost her father in the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building.
