Carlos Saucedo is an American journalist currently working as a General Assignment Reporter for KTLA 5 News. He covers the diverse communities within Southern California. Saucedo joined the station in March 2019. He joined the KTLA team after spending 10 years working at various news agencies across the state and nation.
Saucedo grew up in Montebello. He went and graduated from Montebello High School in 2003. For his higher education, Carlos’s background includes rival schools USC and UCLA. While at UCLA, he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and public affairs. Due to his passion for journalism, Saucedo joined USC’s Annenberg School of Communications, where he received his master’s in broadcast journalism.
Saucedo joined KTLA in March 2019. He joined KTLA 5 News after spending 10 years working at various news agencies across the state and nation. Before returning to Los Angeles, Saucedo reported for KGO-TV in San Francisco. While there he covered some of the major stories in Northern California, including what resulted in the state’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire.
Moreover, Saucedo also anchored the news and reported it at various stations in Fresno and Sacramento. Saucedo began his broadcasting career as a reporter and bureau chief for KWTX in Waco, Texas. At that time, he covered stories from the largest U.S. military base in the entire world: Fort Hood.
During his free time, he enjoys traveling and photography. In addition, he is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
