Chiké Okonkwo is a British Actor who rose to fame for playing PC Clark’s role in famous TV series called New Tricks. He is also widely recognized for playing Ty Coleman’s role in ABC 2021 series called La Brea and Lee Truit in another series called Being Mary Jane. His other famous roles are in films and TV Series like Genesis (2015), Burning Sands (2017), casualty (2007), Dovtores (2008) and Class (2015).
Okonkwo is a British national who was born and raised in the small town of Kingston Upon Thames in London, United Kingdom. His parents are Nigerian natives who migrated to the United States a few years before Chike was born. Okonkwo finished his high school education at Southborough High School. He then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Computing from the University of Surrey class of 2003.
Chiké decided to pursue a full-time acting career after his college graduation. He first appeared as one of ten actors who were selected to perform at the BBC Talent Scheme back in 2001. He was able to make his acting debut on BBC’s Holby City series. From there, Chike furthered his acting skills at the National Youth Theatre where he also performed in various plays.
Chike was also a member of the National Youth Music Theatre from early 1999 to 2002. His popular stage plays and credits include Oklahoma!, Into the Woods, and As You Like It. In 2005, Chike appeared in short films like Deraile (2005), Animal (2005), and Spirit Trap (2005). Chike’s most recent roles are in TV series like Being Mary Jane (2016 to 2019) and La Brea (since 2021).
