Corey McPherrin Biography
Corey McPherrin is an American Journalist who is currently serving as the evening news anchor for WFLD-TV FOX 32 in Chicago since 1995. In addition, he was promoted to host Good Day Chicago weekdays from 7 to 10 am in July 2010.
Prior to joining FOX 32 News, he worked as a sports anchor at WBBM-TV for 4 years since 1991. He remained in this role till 1995, when he decided to leave the station to join WFLD-TV FOX32 in Chicago.
Before joining WBBM-TV, he worked at WABC-TV in New York City since 1984 where he became the station’s top sports anchor in 1986. In addition, he was on hand for the epic 16 innings long sixth game of the 1986 National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and Houston Astros which was broadcasted on ABC.
During the late 1980s, he delivered in-game updates during ABC’s Monday Night Baseball and Thursday Night Baseball broadcasts. In addition, he got his start in his career in 1977 at a television station in Davenport, Iowa, and then worked for TV stations in Quincy, Illinois, New Orleans, Denver, and Atlanta.
A native of Markham, Illinois, he graduated from Hillcrest High School. Later on, he graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in radio and television. At the university, he was president of Butler’s chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
