Daniella Pineda is an American actress who is famous for playing witch Sophie Deveraux in the supernatural drama series The Originals. She is also known for appearing in Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom, and the anime series Cowboy Bebop.
Born and raised in Oakland, California, Pineda completed her early schooling at a High School in her hometown. After that, she enrolled at Mills College, where she graduated with a sociology and radio journalism degree. After ups and downs in her career, she finally landed a role in the CW series The Vampire Diaries.
She was cast as the witch Sophie for Season 4 Episode 20. This episode served as a backdoor pilot for The Originals, which is ser in the French Quarter of New Orleans. However, her character was killed off in episode 13 of the first season. She subsequently appeared in American Odyssey and The Detour.
Later in 2018, she portrayed Zia Rodriguez in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. This role was one of her biggest breakthroughs followed by a starring role as Cassidy Barrett in Mike Kelley’s Netflix anthology thriller What/If. In 2019, she starred as the main character Mariana Hess in Mercy Black.
By April 2019, she had been cast as Faye Valentine in a live-action version of the anime series Cowboy Bebop. She was also cast in The Plane, starring Gerard Butler. Recently, she reprised her role as Zia Rodriguez in the 2022 Jurassic World Dominion.
