He also anchored news and interviewed then-presidential candidate, Barack Obama.
His career began as a production assistant and staff writer for WXYZ-TV in Detroit, between college semesters. He has also worked for WNEM-TV in Saginaw, MI, and WLNS-TV in Lansing, MI. Kinchen has experience related to public policy and has worked with organizations like the National League of Cities and the Michigan Municipal League.
