Deirdre Fitzpatrick is an American journalist who is currently working as an evening anchor and reporter for KCRA 3 News. She joined KCRA 3 News on New Year’s Eve in 1997 and currently anchors the station’s 11 p.m. newscasts. Prior to joining KCRA, she worked at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa. In addition, she is a four-time Emmy Award winner in writing, anchoring, and reporting.
Born in Manchester she attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. After joining KCRA, Fitzpatrick began a whole new life of exploring. She traveled with photographer Mike Domalaog as a member of the Hearst Television Olympics.
Together, they have covered nine Olympics. Currently, she is on the board of the Sacramento Running Association. In addition, she is an 18-time marathoner, ultra-runner, and Ironman triathlete. Despite all this, she is a loving wife and a caring mother who makes sure that her family is happy and takes every moment she is free to spend time with them.
