Edie Lambert is a renowned American journalist in Sacramento who currently anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts on KCRA reports. Prior to joining KCRA News, Lambert worked as a news anchor and producer at KEYT-TV.’
Edie joined KCRA in July 1995 as a reporter and morning anchor. She later became the weekend anchor alongside Ron Jones until 2002. Her next role was anchoring with Kevin Riggs on the weekend evening editions of the newscast. Lambert then switched positions to anchor the 6 and 11 p.m. newscast with John Alston in early 2006. Currently, she is teamed up with Gulstan Dart.
Lambert is a proud graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She also credits her father for giving the advice that cleared her lane to her career passion.
Moreover, Edie is involved in various non-profit organizations, including a domestic violence shelter and a breast cancer research and education organization. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Press Club.
Before joining KCRA, Edie worked at KEYT-TV as an evening anchor and reporter. She further says her motivation to fight cancer comes from her aunt who was diagnosed with cancer in the late 1970s. Her father was also treated for a sarcoma in his leg using chemotherapy that had initially been developed to fight breast cancer. Her sister and brother-in-law work at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Additionally, Lambert has won several awards including an Emmy Award for a documentary she covered on breast cancer. She has also been consistently selected as Sacramento Magazine’s reader’s choice for best local reporter and then best anchor.
