Elaine Quijano Biography
Elaine Quijano is a popular American television reporter currently working as a correspondent and anchor for CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 digital streaming service. In addition, she contributes to all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. She joined CBS in early 2010.
In regard to her education, Quijano received a degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995. Prior to joining CBS, she worked as a correspondent for CNN.
At CBS, Quijano anchors weekday coverage and is also the host for the nightly politics show “Red & Blue.” Additionally, she is the anchor for the Sunday edition of “CBS Weekend News,” whereby, her reporting is usually featured on “CBS This Morning” and the “CBS Evening News.”

Quijano began her career at CBS in 2010. Since then, she has traveled and covered a wide range of stories including Superstorm Sandy, the Boston Marathon bombings, and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. She covered the administrations of President Barack Obama and President George W. Bush. Before joining CNN, Quijano worked as a correspondent for CNN Newsource, the network’s affiliate news service.
Prior to joining CNN Newsource, she worked as a general assignment reporter for WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida. In addition, she also worked as an anchor/reporter/producer for WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois.
