Eleni Giokos Biography
Eleni Giokos is an American Journalist currently serving as CNN Business Africa Correspondent, based in the network’s Johannesburg bureau. She is famous for chairing debates at the World Economic Forum, International Monetary Fund, African Finance Corporation, and the Africa CEO Forum.
Eleni enrolled and later completed her high school in South Africa, she later joined the University of Witwatersrand in the year 2011. She graduated in Journalism and Media Studies in the year 2013.
In 2005, Giokos began her work at CNBC Africa. She eventually became an anchor and correspondent for the 24-hour news channel eNCA, where she covered business and breaking news issues such as Oscar Pistorius’s murder of Reeva Steenkamp and the Westgate Mall attack. Giokos has also covered major international events such as the Davos World Economic Forum and the United Nations General Assembly.
She has had the opportunity to interview a variety of heads of state and business leaders while working as a broadcaster, including South African President Jacob Zuma, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, Virgin founder Richard Branson, and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, to name a few.
From March 2012 to June 2012, she worked as the head of media training at ABN Training Institue. Furthermore, she as well worked as a business and news anchor at eNews Channel Africa from June 2012 to October 2013. She is currently working at Bloomberg Tv Africa since November 2013. She is also serving at CNN International Commerical as a correspondent.
