Emma Mackey is a French-British actress famous for her role as Maeve Wiley in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education. For this role, she won a British Academy Television Award nomination. Mackey also starred in the 2022 mystery film Death on the Nile and the drama film Emily.
Born in Le Mans, Sarthe, France, Mackey grew up in Sable-sur-Sarthe where she received her baccalaureate in 2013 with High Honors in I’academie de Nantes. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in English language and literature.
For her first professional role, Emma was cast in Sex Education as Maeve Wiley. With this, role Emma gained acclaim as an actress and even award nominations. In 2021, she led the independent romantic drama film, Eiffel. The film premiered at the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival.
In 2022, she starred in the mystery thriller film Death on the Nile. Additionally, Emma was cast in 2019, in the supporting role of Jacquline de Bellefort.
