Emma was born in Rhinebeck, New York to her mother, Kelly Cunningham, and her father, actor Eric Roberts. Unfortunately, her parents divorced when she was still young, and never experienced their mutual feelings. She started her acting career at the age of nine when she was featured in the 2001 drama film; Blow. This was the first film to ever audition for.
