Erin Connolly Biography
Erin Connolly is an Emmy award-nominated journalist who anchored and reported across the country for more than 15 years. Connolly joined WFSB (CBS), Connecticut’s most-watched television station in 2014. She can be seen working weekdays anchoring Eyewitness News at 4, 5, 6, and 11 p.m.
Erin is a graduate of Tufts University with a degree in political science and mass media & communications studies. At the Institution, Erin was co-captain of the women’s basketball team and honored on the NESCAC All-Academic Team. During her four-year career with the Jumbos, she made 99 three-pointers ranking 12th on the team’s all-time list for that category. Furthermore, she spent one summer studying abroad in Talloires, France.
Connolly spent four years as a weekend anchor and reporter for Time Warner Cable News in Albany, New York. Her reports were seen all across Upstate New York. Some of Erin’s notable assignments included the live-field anchoring of the Travers Stakes in Saratoga Springs, the New York State Fair in Syracuse, and the men’s NCAA Final Four Basketball tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. Erin is as well a four-time co-host of Albany’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Prior to joining TWC News, Erin worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for WCTI (ABC/FOX) in New Bern, North Carolina. She further anchored and produced a one-hour newscast on the weekends and reported during the week. Before that, Erin was in the Midwest where she worked as a weekend anchor and one-man-band reporter for KEYC (CBS/FOX) in Mankato, Minnesota.
Erin landed her first job in the television business at the nationally syndicated hit television show, Inside Edition. As a story coordinator, Erin worked in a fast-paced newsroom booking multiple exclusives. While at the show, she had the opportunity to interview a number of news personalities and celebrities at red carpet events including John Bon Jovi, John Travolta, Walter Cronkite, Elton John, and Billy Joel.

During her time in WSFB, she had the opportunity to cover Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, the 2016 Presidential Debate at Hofstra University in New York, and the Traveler’s Championship. As a member of the station’s investigative unit, Erin helped spearhead the series, Fugitive Files, which highlighted local cold cases. The stories led to multiple arrests and brought justice to several families.
Connolly was the captain of her soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams at Syosset High School and was voted Best Female Athlete of her senior class. In addition, she is a former New York State free throw champion.
