Evan Donovan is a renowned American political anchor and reporter currently working at WFLA since 2017. He anchors News Channel 8 Today on weekends morning, and as a reporter on political matters during the week. Additionally, he is the host of the Sunday morning political show Battleground Florida. Prior to joining WFLA, Donovan worked at the WLOS in Ashville, NC, where he greatly covered the disputed 2016 NC gubernatorial election and the HB2 transgender bathroom controversy bill.
Since his arrival in October 2017, Donovan has covered numerous high-profile stories, including President Donald Trump 2020 campaign launch and 2018 Tampa rally, the attainment of infamous Tampa Bay serial killer and rapist Bobby Joe Long, the Parkland school shooting, and the following commission hearings, and the historic 2019 Tampa mayoral race.
