Evan Drellich is an American journalist who is currently working as a senior writer who covers the business of baseball for The Athletic. Prior to this, he reported for the Boston Herald, the Houston Chronicle, MassLive.com, and MLB.com. Most notably, Evan lived the television and radio life at NBC Sports Boston and WEEI.
Born in the United States of America, he attended and graduated from Friends Seminary High School. Later on, he attended Binghamton University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2009. At the university, he wrote for the university’s Dream student newspaper.
After graduating, he began his career as a reporter for MLB.com. He joined MLB.com in April 2010 and worked there for a time span of 3 years before leaving the station in March 2013. He then joined MassiveLive.com in the same month as a red sox beat writer.
After 9 months, he left the station in November 2013 and joined Houston Chronicle as an Astros beat writer. He served Houston Chronicle for 2 years and 6 months before leaving the station in April 2016. In addition, Evan also worked for Boston Herald, NBC Sports Boston, WEEI Sports Radio Network, and MLB Network. Currently, he is the senior writer of The Athletic having joined The Athletic in May 2019.
