Francesca Amiker is an American journalist who is currently working as an anchor of the Morning Rush at 11Alive, WXIA in Atlanta. She is a proud Atlanta peach and joined her current station in September 2017.
In relation to her education, Francesca attended and graduated from Chamblee Charter High School in 2008. Later on in 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communication and Media Studies from Vanderbilt University.
Her journey has been full of achievements. Within the first month at 11Alive News, she conducted interviews with Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey. She also created the station’s first-ever entertainment segment, The A-Scene, within a year of joining the station.
Following her career journey, she is a 3-time EMMY Award-Winning journalist, received an Employee of the Year at 11Alive, and was selected as one of the three ‘Employee of the Year finalists for TEGNA nationwide. Her coverage of the Primetime Emmy Awards gave her a Regional Edward R. Murroe for Excellence in Innovation. She has also received a National Edward R. Murrow for Excellence in Innovation. At the end of 2018, she won the ‘Media Mover Award’ from the Technology Association of Georgia.
