Gabriella Rusk Biography
Gabriella Rusk is an American journalist currently working as the weekend sports anchor and sports reporter for NBC 15 News. Rusk joined NBC 15 News in September 2018 from TV-6 KWQC Sports.
Since then, Gabriella has covered everything from an NCAA DIIINational Championship to the Iowa Hawkeyes and even the Chicago Cubs World Series Parade. She has also reported on several breaking news stories, including reports on severe weather and historic flooding. In addition, Rusk was one of the first reporters on the scene of the workplace shooting in Middleton.

Rusk graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast & Digital Journalism degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. In addition, she received a dual major in English and a minor in Sport Management.
Gabriella held several internships while in college, including working for WSVN-TV in Miami for two summers. During the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, Gabriella was an intern stationed at the NBC Sports Complex in Stamford, CT, and worked to produce content for the Olympics broadcasts.

Gabriella joined NBC 15 News in Madison from the station’s sister -station in Davenport, Iowa. At KWXC, Rusk served as a news anchor and reporter but also spent time working in the sports department. As a personal highlight, Gabriella provided love coverage during the 2016 World Series parade. Being an avid sports fan, Rusk is excited to cheer for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers – unless they’re facing those teams from Chicago.
Though Rusk originally grew up in the South Florida area, Gabriella is no stranger to Wisconsin. She has spent several summers watching sunsets at her grandparents’ condo in Door County. In addition, her parents currently live in the Chicago area and she loves being only a short drive away.
When she is not working, Gabriella loves giving back to society in ways that she is passionate about. She often volunteers her time with the Madison Reading Project, a non-profit close to her heart as an avid reader. In addition, Rusk is a friend of Madison Libraries and enjoys lending a hand during monthly book sales.
As part of her introduction to the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign, Rusk was inspired to volunteer with Second Harvest as part of the NRSSH team.
